This could have been the possible inspiration for the Barbarury Lane court yard. This is located on Alta St. It is near where Amastad Maupin once lived.
I think it is also behind the Art Deco building that was described where Beachum and Dede lived. Look for a parking area on that side of the street. It is at the end of that parking lot.
Notice the multi-colored lights that are hanging in the top right corner.
